Moving to Slovenia for a bachelor or master degree involves more than one university application. You need to choose the correct programme, submit an application through eVŠ, complete recognition of your previous education, arrange residence and health documentation, find accommodation, travel to the right city, enrol, and activate the services connected with student status.

This guide brings those steps together for Macedonian students and families.

It does not assume that everyone studies in Ljubljana. The same journey may lead to Maribor, Koper, Nova Gorica, Celje, or another Slovenian study centre, and each city creates different housing, transport, and everyday-life needs.

Good to knowThis guide is put together by students, not by professionals or official bodies. It is meant to help you and your parents through enrolment and settling into life in Slovenia. Some details may change or become outdated, so always check the official sources and confirm anything important with the relevant institutions. We take no responsibility for wrong, outdated or misunderstood information — but we are always glad to help. If you spot something that is not right, please tell us in the “Was this page helpful?” box at the bottom of the page.
